Abstract

The rational explanation of religious beliefs has always been of interest to Muslim philosophers. One of the most important of these beliefs is the true and rational understanding of the Seal of the Prophets (PBUH) and the heirs of his status, position, and perfection. Philosophers, especially from the Isfahan school onward, have strived to attain such an understanding, yet this kind of understanding of them (Ahl al-Bayt) has not been common until today, and its implications have not been thoroughly examined. This research, which has been compiled through library and analytical methods, aims to explore the issue of "the perfection of the Prophet (PBUH) and the Ahl al-Bayt (AS) due to their own and others' worship acts." The results of this investigation suggest that if their existential reality (Ahl al-Bayt) is the medium of divine grace and the first creations of God, then true perfection is negated for them, although this negation of perfection does not imply the negation of changes in their higher levels of existence nor does it imply the negation of the transition from potentiality to actuality in their lower levels. However, if the Imams (AS) are, in essence and truth, like other humans, the perfection principle applies to all their existential levels.
