Aims and Scopes
Today, specialized journals in various scientific fields and disciplines serve as mirrors reflecting the contemplations, intellectual endeavors, innovations, and up‑to‑date research of scholars and researchers. The Department of Philosophy and Islamic Wisdom, within the Faculty of Theology and Islamic Studies at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, as one of the active centers in the domain of the relationship between religion and philosophical and theological sciences, deems it appropriate to publish a scientific‑research journal in the fields of philosophical and theological sciences and kalam in order to expand philosophical thought, introduce Islamic‑Iranian philosophical thought to the global community and, conversely, acquaint the Iranian society with the philosophical ideas of Western and Eastern philosophers, in accordance with its objectives, and through this, pursues intellectual efforts in theorization, the vitality of rational activities, the exchange of ideas, and the scholarly critique of experts' opinions.
Main aims:
Creating a suitable environment for conducting up‑to‑date specialized research in the field of philosophical and theological sciences and helping to expand them.
Reflecting the scientific findings of experts, professors, and researchers.
Responding to specialized intellectual, philosophical, and theological needs.
Creating a suitable space for the exchange of opinions on fundamental and challenging issues and topics.
Criticizing and evaluating the viewpoints, theories, and opinions presented on related issues and topics.
Addressing the inadequacies and deficiencies existing in philosophical‑theological research.
Contributing to the growth and flourishing of scholarly research in the relationships between religion and subsidiary philosophies, new theology, and comparative and contemporary theology.
Scopes
The field of activity of the biannual journal Essays in Philosophy and Kalam consists of philosophy, kalam, and related interdisciplinary topics.
This journal will only publish articles that contain new and original findings in the aforementioned fields. The editorial board always welcomes receiving the research results of professors, researchers, and experts.
