Any instances of academic misconduct or other unethical behavior will result in the removal of the article from the peer review process. This charter defines the duties and responsibilities of authors, editors, editorial board members, and reviewers.

The editor_in_chief of the journal is responsible for deciding whether to accept or reject submitted articles. The editor_in_chief, with the assistance of the editorial board and considering issues related to copyright, plagiarism, and similar matters, as well as the recommendations of reviewers and editors, makes the decision regarding the acceptance of the article.
Editors are responsible for evaluating articles solely based on their scholarly merit, without bias or personal animosity or taking into account nationality, gender, religion, ethnic, or political considerations.
The editor_in_chief and editorial board must not disclose information regarding articles during the review process to anyone other than reviewers, authors, and copy editors.
Material from submitted articles that have not been published should not be used in the editor’s personal research without the author’s written consent. Any confidential information or ideas gained through the review process must be kept confidential and not used for personal gain.
🔗 COPE Ethical Guidelines for Peer Reviewers
Reviewers assist the editor_in_chief and editorial board in making decisions about whether to accept or reject an article, and they contribute to improving the article by providing feedback to authors.
Reviewers should refuse to review an article if they feel it is not within their expertise or if they are unable to review it within the required time frame.
Reviewers must respect the confidentiality of the review process and should not disclose information about the article to anyone outside of the editor.
Reviewers must evaluate articles objectively, impartially, and fairly. They should avoid any personal biases in their recommendations and judgments.
Reviewers are responsible for identifying and verifying any sources cited by the author. Any conclusions or discussions that have been previously published should be properly cited. Reviewers should report to the editor any similarities or overlaps with other works they notice in the submitted article.
Reviewers should not use information or ideas obtained during the review process for personal gain. They must also avoid reviewing articles where a conflict of interest exists due to financial, organizational, personal, or any other relationships with the authors or related entities.
🔗 International Standards for Authors
The corresponding author is ultimately responsible for the content of the entire submitted article. Authors must report their findings accurately and ensure that sufficient details and sources are included in the article so that other researchers can replicate the study.
The corresponding author must ensure that all the material presented in the article is original and properly attributed, including data and methodologies. They must confirm the originality of the work and acknowledge any sources used.
The article should be a new and original work. Authors should not submit articles that are identical or partially identical to those already under consideration or previously published elsewhere.
Authors must acknowledge the contributions of individuals or institutions that have helped or supported the research.
All authors listed in the article must have contributed significantly to the research and should be held accountable for the results. Authorship or credit should be shared based on the contributions made to various parts of the article. The corresponding author must send a draft or final version of the article to all co-authors and obtain their written consent before submission for publication.
Authors must disclose any conflicts of interest that might have influenced the outcome or interpretation of their research.
If an author identifies a significant error or inaccuracy in their article after submission, they must immediately inform the editor and cooperate in revising and correcting the article.
Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, as the publisher of "Journal of Essays in Philosophy and Kalam" is committed to ensuring that decisions about articles are based solely on professional peer review and are not influenced by commercial interests.
The publisher guarantees permanent access to the content of published articles through digital archiving.
The publisher supervises the adherence to ethical practices by the editor, editorial board, reviewers, authors, and readers.
The publisher, in collaboration with the editors, is responsible for identifying and preventing the publication of articles with research misconduct and will not knowingly encourage such unethical behavior or allow such misconduct to occur.
In line with the guidelines provided by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), authors are permitted to use artificial intelligence tools or large language models during the initial writing stages, especially in sections such as “Materials and Methods” or similar sections. However, the use of these tools should be fully transparent, and the corresponding author remains accountable for all content, data, and interpretations presented in the article.
Artificial intelligence tools (including large language models) should not be credited as authors or co-authors of articles, as they lack the responsibility and legal authority to accept accountability for scholarly work.
Ferdowsi University of Mashhad emphasizes scientific integrity, transparency, and accountability in the writing and publication process. Therefore, all authors are required to fully document their use of artificial intelligence tools in their article.
The "Journal of Essays in Philosophy and Kalam" journal considers any form of plagiarism, misuse of others' works, or the use of research findings or texts without proper attribution as unethical, unprofessional, and unacceptable. Plagiarism may include the complete or partial publication of someone else’s work under one’s name or the direct or indirect copying of substantial parts of scholarly texts without proper attribution.
Authors must ensure that their submitted articles are original and free of any form of plagiarism and should use similarity-checking software to detect any overlap with previously published works.
If misconduct (such as plagiarism or other similar behavior) is identified during the initial review or peer review stages, the article will be rejected, and the corresponding author will be given an opportunity to explain. If the misconduct is not satisfactorily explained, appropriate actions will be taken, including issuing a written reprimand, and in severe cases, the authors will be placed on the journal’s blacklist, prohibiting further submissions.
If plagiarism is discovered after publication, the article will be swiftly removed from the journal’s system and archived. The corresponding author must issue a formal written apology, and the issue will be referred to the research ethics committee at the author’s institution for further investigation. modifications or adjustments, feel free to let me know!
The Essays in Philosophy and Kalam allows readers to comment on and critique scientific discussions presented in articles accepted for publication. Comments can be submitted via the “Submit Comment on this Article” section on each article’s webpage. Comments are reviewed up to one month before the final publication. If the comments are useful and constructive, they will be forwarded to the author for corrections and displayed under the “References” section of the article’s webpage.
Appeals
Authors have the right to appeal editorial decisions. Those who wish to appeal must submit their request to the journal’s editor. The editor will re-evaluate the manuscript along with reviewers’ and editorial comments and may either uphold the original decision, return the manuscript to the author for revision, or send it to a new reviewer. The editor's decision is final.
