Abstract

Abstract
In an article, the most important proofs of proving and disproving the theory of union of the intelligent and intelligible are studied and all of them have been rejected. Among the proofs to prove this theory, there are two proofs that Sadra mentioned along with the argument of mutual correlation. Another article has tried to remove the criticisms of the first article to these two proofs and defend them. In this article, by criticizing the efforts of the second article, all the critics of the second article to the first article have been rejected or removed, and regarding the first proof, it has been clarified that according to Sadra, the unity in the theory of union of the intelligent and intelligible is the unity of matter and form, which is compatible with his views about the substantial movement and the abstraction of multiple concepts from one thing and the theory of the unity of the soul with its faculties, and entails the occurrence of perceptual forms in the soul and the evolution of the soul through the acquisition of empirical knowledge. Regarding the second proof, it has been clarified that comparing the soul to a blind eye is not correct, and the difference is the ability and inability to receive perceptual forms. If the theory of union is denied, one should compare the soul with a sound eye, because in this case, although the soul does not have intellectualized forms, it has the ability to receive them.
